I love sailor moon crystal. It's pretty much what got me back into the fandom..Ok, I still love the 90's verison, it is the only series with that Nostalgia factor, in fact.
But I also love crystal, I may say more than the 90's version, but I really do love the 90's version more, it's full of memories. Why do I love crystal? Well, I'm the type of person(anime fan), who isn't the type who prefers 200 episode anime series, as 60 episodes is alot for me, it would take ages for me to finish it. And to add to that, I watch anime and read manga every once in a while (excluding magical girl raising project). So, I was looking for a shorter sailor moon series, but at that time, this mission was nearly impossible, as I didn't know that crystal idea.
A couple years later, after mom reminding me that I used to watch sailor moon as a little kid, I decided to start watching it once more, "fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight". Those words, felt like they sent me back in time..I did watch sailor moon as a kid..
I love crystal because of it's faster pacing, thus less episodes, more relation to the manga, and songs.

I admit that I have been slacking, I have not presented my opinion yet. But now I will.
Sailor moon crystal's hate makes no sense to me. If you like sailor moon, why not like all it's incarnations, including the sera myu, manga, 90's anime, live action and CRYSTAL? Ok, it's ok to hate a senshi, but not actually a whole complete series.
And what's the main reason for hating the series? I'll list them here.
The girls look "unnatural": It's a damn anime series, do you expect detailed faces?
Over-reliance on the Manga: Umm, it's based on the manga after all!
